Fred is the first bowler to roll a sanctioned perfect game on December 22, 1937, in the Kokomo Bowling Association. His games that evening at Recreation Alleys were 228, 300, and 159 for a 687 series. He won the title of Kokomo individual match game championship at Recreation Alleys.
