SUMMARY

Mike started his bowling as a youth bowler in the early 1970's. Mike has been one of Kokomo's best bowlers for a number of years. He is active in tournament bowling and rolls some of his best scores in tournaments. Mike has demonstrated his leadership and commitment to bowling by being actively involved in the Kokomo Bowling Association (now a Life Member) as well as organizing squads for various tournaments.

SERVICE

Mike has contributed significantly to local bowling in a variety of ways.

  • Approached the Kokomo Tribune and rejuvenated the weekly bowling column in 1991
  • Kokomo Tribune bowling column editor for 2 years
  • Initiated the Super Classic League which was a scratch league that travelled to each of the 4 Kokomo bowling centers
  • Created the WE CARE Pledge Bowl in 1992
  • KBA President in 1992
  • KBA Director of the Year in 1996
  • KBA Life Member
  • Squad organizer for the State Tournament, Hoinke Tournament and Bluffton Classics Tournament

  • 1992 City Tournament Team actual champion with a record 3305 series
  • 300 game rolled February 24, 1993 at Don Lowry Lanes West
  • 299 game rolled February, 1999 at Don Lowry Lanes
  • Won various ABC awards including two 11-in-a-row (297, 279), Big 4 Split, 7-10 split and Dutch 200.
  • Rolled a couple of PBA regional tournaments in the mid/late 1980's and finished higher than Bob Learn and Mike Aulby
  • Recently rolled two seasons as a lefthander and averaged 151 and 159 with high game of 265 and series of 636

  • Rolled 60-70 700 series including 796, 787, 786 and 780
  • At least 20 of the 700 series were shot in tournament play
  • Bowled city high series of 719 in the Quad Cities in 1983/84
