SUMMARY

Mark Snodgrass has been one of Kokomo's top bowlers for over 25 years. His smooth style has allowed him to consistently average over 200 and win many City Tournament championships. Mark is a quiet and tough competitor and someone that everyone would like to have anchor their team.

Mark's major bowling accomplishments include his 300 scored on March 4, 1997, at Cedar Crest Lanes; he bowled a 298 and three or four 288 or 289 games. With his personal best high series of 789, Mark has bowled at least 50 series of 700 including 780, 774, 767, and 750. This season, his 700 series scores reported include 745, 739, 735, 716, 714, and 713.

His high year-end average is 215 at Cedar Crest and Don Lowry Lanes West in the 1997-98 season. Other high averages include a 202 in 1978, 200 in 1986, 203 in 1994, and 206 in 1996. Mark also averaged a Cedar Crest high of 189 in 1974, and he maintained the second highest city average with a 197 in 1984-85 behind Hall of Fame member Ed Martin's 198.

Other tournament accomplishments:

  • 1st place Team Actual (Richard's Foursome-2319) in 1997 City Mixed Tournament
  • Rolled 718 in State Tournament Singles Event in Indianapolis in 1998
  • Mark participated in at least 20 UAW Region Tournaments where he cashed almost every year and averaged over 200.
  • In 2001, he won 1st place Region 3 Team Event with 3220 actual.
  • On April 28, 2001, Mark placed second when he bowled a 300 game and a 752 series at the UAW Nationals in Michigan.
  • In 1983, Mark was All-Events winner.
  • In 1998 Singles Event, he rolled 713 with a 288 game.

 

Mark joins his father, Max Snodgrass, in the Kokomo Bowling Hall of Fame with the distinction of being the first father and son members.
