Don Sparks has been a member of the City of Firsts USBC for 26 years, has served for the City of Firsts USBC as 1st Vice-president for four years, 2nd Vice-president for two years, and for two years served as the Kokomo Youth Bowling Club Secretary.

As a youth leader, Don served as the Indiana Youth USBC President for five years and it's Vice-president for one year.

Don is a Level I and II Certified Coach and a Bronze USA Coach.  He coached in the Don Lowry (now Heritage Lanes) youth programs for 14 years, which includes the Bumpers, Bantam/Preps, and Junior/Majors.

Working for Bowing Inc. / USBC Field Consultant for 6.5 years, Don was a workshop presenter at the Indiana State Jamboree for two years, and hosted four Lane Inspection Workshops (Kokomo - 2, Columbus and Elkhart).  He trained some of the Kokomo members who previously, and are currently, performing lange inspections.  Don was also a national workshop presenter at the USBC Conventions/Annual Meeting in Orlando and Nashville.

In 2004, Don received the Friend of the WISBA Award, and in 2007, he won the Indiana State YABA/ISUSBC Youth Presidents Meritorious Service Award.  In 2006, Don received the Hoosier Women Bowling Writers First Article Award, and in 2007, the Wayne-Westland Special Recognition Award (presented for assistance in chartering as a USBC chartered association).
