AT THE TIME OF INDUCTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 1992 -- Class of 1991...

Francis was a consistent participant in local scratch leagues. He was a member of the Lords Jewelers and Leonards Jewelers teams that dominated local scratch bowling in the late 1940's and 1950's. As a member of Leonards team in the City Scratch League, a record was established of 3259 in November 1949. The record stood for more than 30 years until the era of "high scores." His best game was 290, and he averaged in the 190's consistently. Francis started bowling in the Continental league in the 1930's and also bowled with Dietzen's Bakery in the Cross Town League. He was a part-time desk clerk for Play Bowl Lanes for 15 years.

Francis was one of those bowlers everyone was proud to know and bowl with. He was sincere and a strong advocate for the integrity of the game always giving his best.
