- At time of her induction into the KWBA Hall of Fame, Virginia had worked with Special Olympics for over ten years and still works with the kids on the lanes every week.
- She was Secretary for the State Boards of Special Olympics in 1984-1985 and was Chairman of the Constitutions Committee in 1986.
