ACTIVITIES

  • Marcia helped organize and coach youth bowling for 15 years.
  • She was the secretary for Sunday Nite Mixed League at Lowry West for eight years.
  • Also, Marcia served as Treasurer for the Make Believe League at Cedar Crest Lanes for two years.
  • She served as Secretary/Treasurer for a Monday morning league.
  • Two consecutive years, Marcia was awarded the Vada Soots Attitude Award, as well as receiving two Charlie Lucas Mental Awards in previous years. The recipients for these awards are selected for sportsmanship and positive attitude.
  • In honor of Marcia, the Marcia Carpenter Mental Attitude Award has been created for positive attitude and sportsmanship.
  • Marcia bowled for over 30 years and was a member of the National, State, and Local 600 Club.
  • Among Marcia Carpenter's bowling accomplishments were placing third in the 1983 WISBA Championship Tournament team event.
  • In 1984, Marcia won the Miller Doubles Tournament with partner Dave Turner in the local and state level to qualify for the Reno, Nevada, competition where they finished ninth out of 48 teams. Her average was 186 for the tournament.
  • She and her daughter, Leslie Paul, won first place in the 1985 State Family Twosome Mother-Daughter Division.
  • Marcia was a team member of 20th Century League Champions in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989.
  • Her records indicate team membership for League Mixed Champions in 1980, 1983, 1991, and 1992.
  • Marcia has scored a 252 game and 623 series and received 1980-81 League High Series Award.

The bowling community lost a great friend to cancer.
